Italian firm Pelliconi Group has selected Sacmi, a manufacturer of the aluminium cap liner-making and application machine, to supply a metal cap production line to boost its business in China.
Sacmi will provide the firm with lines which can produce the modern Maxi P-26 pull closure to make both cap and liner and apply the practical ergonomic-grip pull ring. It will have output rates of 1200 caps/minutes.
The Maxi P-26 is a single-use, aluminium cap designed for glass, plastic (PET) and aluminium bottles.
The production line comprises a vertical press where metal sheets are made into caps and a downstream PMV unit that applies the liner.
A RCM machine is also included in the line which moulds and applies the plastic ring with tab, making the closures both convenient and smart-looking.
In addition to manufacturing modern, ergonomic-grip aluminium disposable caps, the line is expected to ensure maximum seal pressure while providing enhanced ergonomics and practicality.
Pelliconi Group has a production capacity of over 30 billion aluminium and crown caps a year.
The new production line will complement Pelliconi’s installed liner application machine from Sacmi purchase earlier.
Sacmi is engaged in manufacturing machines and complete plants for the ceramics, packaging, food and automation industries. It also supplies the aluminium cap liner-making and application machine.
Pelliconi is the manufacturer of crown corks, metal and plastic caps for the bottling industry.
