Lumileds Adds to LUXEON Stylist Series with Freshfocus Technology for Bread & Pastries

LED maker Lumileds of San Jose, CA, USA has introduced FreshFocus Technology for bread & pastries, as part of its LUXEON Stylist Series of LEDs (designed to provide the lighting environment for fashion retail stores, fresh food markets and restaurants). Previously, at the end of August, the firm introduced FreshFocus Technology tailored to showcasing fruit and vegetable produce, followed in early September by FreshFocus Technology for red meat, marbled meat and fish.

"FreshFocus Technology enables market owners to extend their competitive advantage by making these food items appear even more enticing," says Luis Aceña, senior manager, Stylist Series.

FreshFocus Technology is offered as omnidirectional, spotlight and downlight, and built-to-spec lighting solutions. For bread and pastries, Lumileds offers FreshFocus Technology on select LUXEON CoB (chip-on-board) LEDs for spotlights and downlights. At a correlated color temperature of 2700K, the LUXEON CoB 1208 and 1211 arrays achieve >100lm/W efficacy and produce 3464lm and 4750lm when driven at currents of 900mA and 1200mA, respectively.

In addition to individual LEDs, FreshFocus Technology is also offered in the Matrix Platform using LUXEON LEDs on flexible or rigid substrates. The Platform's proprietary Oberon pick-and-place technology delivers consistent light appearance.
