RF Micro Devices Inc of Greensboro,NC,USA has launched four monolithic microwave integrated circuit(MMIC)upconverter and downconverter devices, offering high performance and low cost for high-frequency applications,it is claimed.
The RFUV1702(17.7-19.7GHz)and RFUV1703(21-26.5GHz)upconverters incorporate an integrated frequency multiplier(x2),LO buffer amplifier,a balanced single-sideband(image rejection)mixer followed by variable gain amplifier(VGA),and DC-decoupling capacitors.
The RFRX1701(17.7-26.5GHz)and RFRX1702(17.75-19.7GHz)downconverters incorporate an image rejection mixer,LO buffer amplifier, and integrated low-noise amplifier(LNA).Each device is packaged in a 5mm x 5mm QFN to simplify both system-level board design and volume assembly.
The combination of high performance and low-cost packaging makes each device cost effective and suitable for point-to-point radio and satellite communications, says the firm.
