After four years on south Bristol's Wells Road, the traditional toy retailer will close its store due to the economic climate.
Wells independent toy retailer Jack and Jill Toy Shop has announced its plans to close its high street store and make the move to online trading.
The family-run, south Bristol-based toy retailer has held its position on Wells Road for the last four years, but today declared it will not be opening its doors to 2015 owing to the current economic climate.
Instead, the company’s wide selection of products, ranging from LEGO and wooden toys to Playmobil and Micro scooters will now be available to consumer via the firm’s online store.
“The last four years have been wonderful,” said company director, Noelle Gartlan, Jack and Jill Toy Shop via the store’s Facebook page.
“It has simply become too difficult to sustain the costs of running the shop in the current economic climate.
“We will continue to sell all of your favourite toys, books and cards from our online shop at www.jackandjilltoyshop.co.uk and offer free local delivery.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to each of my lovely customers. You have supported me, inspired me, made me laugh and shared your stories will.”
Gartland notes that she and her team now move on to the ‘next chapter in the Jack and Jill story with optimism.’
“In the time I have been at Jack and Jill, I have met so many lovely people from our community, made so many friends and watched your children grow. Love and best wishes to you all for 2015 and beyond,” she concluded.
