Japanese automaker Mazda has announced that it will introduce a new sports car concept model at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
The company highlighted that the design of the sports car concept has been inspired by the other sports car models it has produced earlier.
The company has released a teaser photograph of the model to be unveiled, which shows a silhouette of a vehicle with a long hood, rear-slung cockpit, rounded fastback and muscular rear fenders which is reportedly a part of the brand's Kodo design language.
Kodo design language is aimed at creating bond between driver and the car and is inspired by the power and elegance of a wild animal.
Using the design language, the company has already developed Mazda2, Mazda3, New Mazda6, CX-5, CX-9 and our first small SUV, Mazda CX-3.
According to reports, the new model could be a successor to the RX-8 sports car, which was discontinued in 2012.
The RX-8 combined two previous products which include the internationally sold RX-7, and Cosmo and it featured an early iteration of the 13B-MSP engine.
The company will showcase 14 models on display at the Mazda which will include crossover concept Mazda KOERU, two racing-spec Mazda Roadsters (known as Mazda MX-5 outside Japan) and the Cosmo Sport (110S outside Japan).
