Simmons is introducing its new ComforPedic iQ mattress, a self-adjusting mattress that provides personalized support, at a launch party here on the eve of this month's Las Vegas Market.
Speaking at that event will be Dr. Andrew Weil, a leader in the field of integrative medicine, who is endorsing the ComforPedic iQ mattress. This is the first mattress that Weil, the founder and director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center, has endorsed, Simmons officials said.
The launch party will be held Saturday evening, Jan. 25, at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, the distinctively designed building across from the World Market Center campus. It is an invitation-only dealer event.
Simmons officials say they will introduce dealers to the "The Future of Sleep" through "an exciting, full-sensory experience." The event will include an address from Weil, dinner, drinks and entertainment.
"For those of you who have struggled with sleep issues, choosing the right mattress is an important step towards getting quality rest," said Weil. "The ComforPedic iQ is the first and only mattress I have ever endorsed, because I believe the Smart Response technology provides a practical and effective sleep solution."
The specialty sleep mattresses uses encased foam cylinders to provide personalized support and pressure relief for each sleeper, without motors, buttons, plugs or electronics, Simmons said. It will release more details on the new line at the launch party.
With five consecutive New York Times bestsellers, more than 10 million books in print, and two Time magazine covers, Weil is a globally recognized expert for his advice on leading a healthy lifestyle that takes into account mind, body and spirit, Simmons officials said.

In a Temple University School of Medicine study measuring the sleep quality of 20 participants, researchers compared the participants' sleep on their current mattresses to their sleep on a ComforPedic iQ sleep system. On average, when sleeping on a ComforPedic iQ sleep system, the participants fell asleep faster, spent less time lying awake, and experienced increased REM sleep, Simmons said.

Weil is also the founder of The Weil Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting integrative medicine through training, education and research. Weil will donate all of his after-tax profits from royalties from sales of ComforPedic iQ to the foundation, Simmons said.
The company will launch a multimedia advertising campaign for ComforPedic iQ in the spring, including ads on national network and cable television during the peak summer selling period and on the Web, social and mobile with a digital campaign. The campaign will include Weil and will promote the line's use of advanced technology designed to give consumers a holistic, effective sleep solution, Simmons said.
