Cotton Outlook's World Cotton Production Forecast Has Been Reduced by 108,000 Tonnes

During the past month, Cotton Outlook's world cotton production forecast has been reduced by 108,000 tonnes, owing to reductions for China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and the African Franc Zone countries, which more than offset gains for the United States and Brazil. The reduction for China brings our figure closely in line with that put forward by the China Cotton Association. World consumption has been raised by 70,000 tonnes, to reflect gains in Indonesia and Bangladesh, two countries whose cotton imports have been rising.
