A delegation of company owners from Spanish community of Valencia will participate in a trade mission to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from June 11-14, 2013.
The trade mission is organized by the Internationalization and Textile Entrepreneurs Association of Valencia (ATEVAL), and will include owners of eight companies manufacturing home textile products, including upholstery fabrics and home decoration textiles. The first-of-its-kind visit will help Spanish visitors to explore the UAE home textile market and help them analyse the demands of the country, said Mar Casanova, directorate general of ATEVAL, according to a lasprovincias.es report. Mr. Casanova said that UAE is majorly dependent on oil, gas and petroleum sector for its revenue, and is dependent on other countries for import of various goods. This makes it a favorable market for luxury goods, including home textiles and home decoration. Adding to the high home textile demand, UAE also has a large number of tourists with high purchasing power, who spend on purchase of various goods from its market, he said. During their visit, the Spanish delegates will engage in meetings with potential buyers, importers, distributors and owners of chain stores in Dubai.
The Valencia community exported home textile products worth € 20 million to the Middle Eastern countries in 2012, representing a 63 percent of total home textile exports from Spain to the Middle East.
