ExpoProducción, a trade show and conference serving the complete sewn products industry supply chain in Mexico and Central America for fashion, home, and technical textiles at the World Trade Center in Mexico City.
The launch drew high-level praise from participants including industry speakers, leaders, associations, exhibitors and attendees. The event hosted 129 exhibiting companies and brands from Mexico, USA, China, India, Italy, Sweden and Singapore. More than 2,900 attendees representing 11 countries attended the show.
David Audrain, President and CEO of Clarion Events North America commented, "We are extremely pleased with the participation and attendance at this first edition of ExpoProducción. The escalating interest from the industry ensures that next year's event will be significantly larger with attendance growth from all of Mexico and Central America."
A main attraction for attendees and exhibitors alike was the comprehensive educational program offered at ExpoProducción. Many of the sessions filled to capacity allowing for standing room only. The program included more than 14 in-depth talks and presentations by leading industry professionals.
The topics focused on the latest research and developments in cutting & sewing, international trade updates, advancements in the production of military, protective, and safety apparel, market update for the apparel industry, and the creation of design and trademarks. Steven A. Jesseph, Chief Operating Officer, ICG Group of Companies remarked, "Many compliments to the Clarion Events North America team who did a fantastic job at ExpoProducción 2013. Dozens of people told me during the show how impressed they were with the quality of exhibitors and the number of buyers given that it has been 10 years since a similar show was held there.
"The educational program had a line-up of outstanding speakers who focused on relevant and timely topics for attendees and exhibitors alike. Based on the attendance at the educational sessions, Clarion hit home run after home run right out of the park!"
ExpoProducción's successful launch can be attributed to the strong partnerships developed between the organizing company, Clarion Events North America, Inc. and MexCostura, the leading textile magazine in Mexico, and CANAIVE, the National Chamber of the Apparel Industry. Both publisher and chamber were instrumental in promoting ExpoProducción to their subscribers and members respectively. CANAIVE President, Sergio López, stated. "We are facing a great challenge in the development of the apparel industry, not only in our local market but in the growth of the export market, this is why we are in need of new technologies that will allow us to be more competitive, it is without a doubt that ExpoProducción comes in the right moment with the best technological offer that is available to our industry."
