Toluene market showed mixed trend in Asia whereas it surged up in Europe and went down in US in the week ending December 22.
Toluene prices were stable in Korea due to sluggish downstream demand in the region. In the initial days of the reporting week, prices were at US$ 1380/ton higher by US$ 35/ton, as compared to the same period of the previous week.
During the week, speculators assessed the spot prices of Toluene in the range of US$ 1370-1380/ton FOB Korea.
In Japan, Toluene prices showed similar trend as Korea and were assessed steady. Toluene prices showed upward trend in S.E. Asia and witnessed hike of 1% w-o-w.
Toluene prices surged up in Europe and were assessed 1.7% higher as compared to its previous week. Initial contract prices for December were agreed at US$ 1297/ton (€ 999/ton) lower by US$ 28-38/ton as compared to the last month’s settlement.
In US, Toluene prices showed downward trend and were in the range of 440-450 (cents/gallon) FOB US.
