The eighteenth edition of the ongoing international carpet exhibition, ‘Carpet and Arts Oasis’, is featuring a range of exclusive handmade carpets under one roof from countries like Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and India. Taking place in UAE’s most populous city Dubai, the event, spread in an area of over 7,000 square metres, is showcasing nearly 170,000 rich and rare carpets. The highlights of the exhibition include a 500 square metres Iranian carpet, which took around 11 years to complete and is the largest exhibit at the expo consisting of 160 million knots. The event is also hosting a special carpet weaving program, wherein about 10,000 participants will participate in making a carpet portrait of the Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Part of Dubai Shopping Festival, the event is being organized by Dubai Customs.
