Honda Has Announced Honda SENSING

Honda has announced Honda SENSING, a new driver-assistive system which is expected to be used in the company’s flagship Legend.

The technology features two types of sensors which include a monocular camera mounted on top, inside part of the wind shield and millimeter-wave radar located inside the front grille.

The new millimeter-wave radar includes pedestrians regarded with the monocular camera identifies attributes and sizes of pedestrians.

The key functions of SENSING includes Collision Mitigation Braking System , Road Departure Mitigation , Pedestrian Collision Mitigation Steering System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Traffic Sign Recognition ; False Start Prevention Function, Lead Car Departure Notification System and Adaptive Cruise Control which is found in most of the drivers assistant systems.

The technology will be rolled out in Legend which will go on sale in Japan by the end of this year, and then it will be introduced in more models in the future.
