Guardian Industries will launch a first-of-its-kind BIM solution and launch a new SunGuard low-E glass for commercial applications in Booth 1916 at the 2013 AIA Convention in Denver June 20-22.
Guardian’s new web-based BIM Generator, coming at sunguardglass.com, is the first tool that populates manufacturer data for thermal and optical performances of project specific customer IG makeups in the BIM format. Guardian representatives will be available at the AIA Convention to provide demonstrations of the new tool.
“We’re especially excited to put our new BIM Generator in the hands of architects, in combination with our other industry leading tools,” said Chris Dolan, director, Commercial Glass Marketing, Guardian Industries. “With the addition of the BIM Generator, the Guardian SunGuard website is the one-stop shop for complete Glass Analytics and technical design guidance.”
The BIM Generator creates highly detailed content that represents the correct thickness and color of the inboard and outboard lites. By leveraging visibility settings, you can control the level of detail depending on the desired scale of the view. The content is created for Revit 2013 to take advantage of Revit’s material analytics for energy simulations. In addition to specific customized makeups, standard makeups will be available for download on www.SunGuardGlass.com, Autodesk Seek, and SmartBIM.
Also making its debut is SunGuard Neutral 78/65, a new commercial glass product that provides high visible light, high solar heat gain and a neutral color – excellent for cold-weather climates where passive heat gain is desired. Neutral 78/65 can be used in double- or triple-glazed units, and in combination with the SunGuard portfolio of high performance low-E coatings, and will also be on display at Guardian Industries Booth 1916.
In addition to its 2013 headliners, Guardian will present its InGlass interiors portfolio, including Guardian Reveal, glass that transitions from transparent clarity to serene privacy in a single click.
And for the residential architects, Guardian ClimaGuard returns to AIA. ClimaGuard products can meet or exceed energy codes and standards and provide safety and security to a home.
“Guardian will showcase our comprehensive commercial, residential and interior glass portfolio to AIA attendees,” said Mark Lacasse, Guardian vice president of North America Flat Glass. “We are able to offer architects and designers product and service innovation and inspiration across a wide variety of markets.”nGlass is a trademark of Guardian Industries Corp.
