Upholstery manufacturer United Furniture, is expanding operations at its facility here, according to a press release from local government officials.
The expansion will create at least 100 new jobs and represents an investment of $277,000, officials said.
Also, Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, the Monroe County Board of Supervisors and the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce said the Mississippi Development Authority has approved a $1,323,363 community development grant for the Nettleton plant, the Monroe County Journal reported. The grant will fund the re-roofing of the 445,000-square-foot building.
United moved into the facility in July 2012.
"Job creation is crucial to economic development, and I appreciate United Furniture Inds. for continuing to invest in its Mississippi operations and for creating these new jobs for the residents of Nettleton," said Bryant.
