AMD has launched its Elite A-Series Accelerated Processing Units (APUs) with new features and support for mobiles and PCs.
Codenamed the Richland the APUs offer a wave of interesting features including facial log-in, gesture recognition, improved graphics, better power management and superior performance to older versions.
The APUs, based on the same design as their predecessor, come with AMD Radeon HD 8000 Series graphics, improved AMD Turbo CORE technology and are built on the APU line-up.
The APUs, built on the AMD AllDay Power idea, allow the 2013 AMD Elite A-Series Platform to offer up to 7.9 hours of web browsing, 5.7 hours of HD video playback and 10 hours of resting battery life on a 55W/hour battery.
