Jumbo Games has partnered with Hobbycraft stores to launch a jigsaw amnesty with selected hospitals across England and Scotland.
This month, the general public will be able to drop off old and used jigsaws at selected Hobbycraft stores where they will receive money off vouchers for any Jumbo puzzle in the shop.
For every puzzle donated, Jumbo will donate one brand new jigsaw to the selected hospital across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Edingburgh.
These chosen hospitals include Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Western General Hospital, Edingburgh and the North Bristol Trust.
"We are extremely happy to be conducting this activity,” said Katherine Pierce, marketing manager at Jumbo Games.
"Not only does it encourage a sense of charity within the community, it also helps raise people’s awareness of puzzles which is such a popular family past time.”
The initiative will run throughout the school half term, from October 18th to November 2nd and hopes to inspire a charitable Christmas in the run up to the festive season.
"Over the Christmas period a lot of people aren’t well enough to leave the hospital and the donation of new puzzles to entertain them will hopefully provide a source of enjoyment for these individuals as well as visitors and members of staff,” added Pierce.
“Jigsaws are known to bring people together as is Christmas, and combined hopefully this activity will be a source of happiness and wellbeing for all those involved.”
