Global Interiors Sets to Dramatically Expand Operation After Receiving a 80k Pounds Loan

Bolton-based family-run furniture and home accessories company, Global Interiors, is set to dramatically expand its operation after receiving a £80k BFS Business Loan which is drawn from a £24m fund delivered by Business Finance Solutions (BFS) that is designed to help businesses across Greater Manchester to find access finance, grow, and create or protect jobs.

Founded in 1987, Global Interiors has operated from a store in the Botany Bay visitors centre since then, and is using the loan to expand its additional new premises in Astley Bridge in Bolton. The installation of a mezzanine level will double the existing floor space of the store, and it will also house a new Italian bistro called Dolce. The new premises will also enable Global Interiors to create at least five new jobs in the Bolton area, taking their total staff to 12.

Global Interiors designs and manufactures its own nationally-renowned chunky rustic plank pine range, using skilled craftsmen and traditional methods such as mortice and tenon joints, pegging and dovetailing and using only premium grade timber. Every piece can be made to measure. The store specialises in solid wood furniture in pine, oak, shisham, acacia and reclaimed teak, but is also houses a vast range of home accessories to allow customers to truly personalize their homes.

Director Donna Burrell says: “Receiving the Business Loan and the support from BFS has really enabled us to push forward with our growth plans and to continue to provide a great retail experience and create new jobs in the North West. Global Interiors and our famous handmade pine furniture have been part of people’s homes since 1987 and we are really proud to be opening and expanding our second store this year. We have always prided ourselves on the quality of our products and service and are looking forward to adding a landmark bistro to our brand very soon, as well as a sofa studio with models from Tetrad, Buoyant sofa, and the Old English sofa company to name but a few.”

BFS Business Loans is a government-backed initiative that will see over £24m invested into growing businesses in Greater Manchester over the next 10 years. A condition of the loan is that it must create or protect jobs and typical loans will be from £3k to £100k in value.

Paul Breen, director of Business Finance Solutions, which is delivering the Business Loans in Greater Manchester, says: “Global Interiors is an established, quality family business with a great track record of success and innovative thinking. We are delighted to be able to support them with this additional funding that will enable them to put even bigger and better plans in place for the growth of the business.”

The Business Loans are designed to help businesses that have been unable to secure mainstream funding and to make it easier for entrepreneurs to access the finance they need to start up and grow their own enterprises. Recipients of the BFS Business Loans can also be introduced to business mentors and to other business support services, which will be delivered by the Business Growth Hub.
