Jordan's Furniture has enlisted Pedro Martinez of the Boston Red Sox as a spokesman and he's helping the retailer launch its latest sports-related promotion, the Boston Globe reports.
For any furniture Jordan's customers buy from now through May 5, the store says it will refund the purchase price if any of his Red Sox colleagues pitches a perfect game between July 19 and Sept. 29.
Jordan's President and CEO Eliot Tatelman told the Globe, "There were three perfect games pitched last year, and it could be the Red Sox turn this year! We bought insurance. That way, we're rooting for the Red Sox to pitch that perfect game, too, so that all our customers win free furniture."
Martinez, a former Red Sox pitching star and now special assistant to the team's general manager, will appear with Tatelman in ads pitching the new free furniture promotion, the newspaper said.
