It has become a very nice tradition:Each season,PERFORMANCE DAYS concludes having set new attendance records. So it was once again this time. The ninth edition of the trade fair for functional fabrics proudly announces another new record.
More exhibitors and more visitors than ever before came to take advantage of the opportunities presented by this special venue for functional fabrics and materials.
This edition marked the first time three full days were scheduled for the now well established, professional trade show PERFORMANCE DAYS in Munich's MTC World of Fashion. The number of visitors shows the popularity of the fair continues to grow:More than 881 visitors from 27 countries made the trip to Munich,29%more than the previous edition of the fair.
A visitor survey shows that those visiting the trade fair were highly satisfied. The evaluation of overall satisfaction averaged 8 points(out of 10),with special praise going to the quality of the exhibitors and the good working climate.
This improved again primarily because of the larger exhibit areas per company and an increase in floor space overall. Many of the exhibitors who have been part of a group stand in previous seasons, presented this time at their own individual stand. The expansion was enabled by the opening of a fourth exhibition hall.
The trade fair has definitely established itself as an international event,as shown by the exhibitor and visitor data.Trade fair manager Stefanie Sacherow expressed her satisfaction:"Besides the many visitors from Germany, our records show 47%of the visitors were from 26 different countries—that is something that makes us very proud and it tells us that we have achieved international recognition."
We even had visitors from as far away as the USA,Canada, and Brazil. The organizers are especially proud of the number of returning exhibitors(56%),those that have participated more than three times already and will be back again.
88 participating companies from a total of 18 countries,50%from Asia and 50%from the western states.Overall, there was a 7%increase in the number exhibitors over the previous trade fair and the quality of the exhibitors was the subject of special praise.
To mention just a few of the new attractions:Amaterrace from Japan–also the winner of the PERFORMANCE AWARD–and Eurojersey from Italy or Schoeller from Switzerland. The organizers are especially proud of the number of returning exhibitors(56%),those that have participated more than three times already and will be back again.
Major attractions and the PERFORMANCE FORUM-Well attended talks attest to the fact that the supplemental program at the trade fair is always in sync with the pulse of the times.
In addition to the usual"must-haves",the trend topics by Nora Kühner and Ulrike Arlt were not only well attended, but also provided for lively discussions—all about fluorocarbons in the finishing treatments for functional clothing roundtable with Sophie Bramel.Summaries of all the presentation topics are available online shortly on the trade fair's web site.
The PERFORMANCE FORUM was a tremendous success partially because of the appropriately designed information tables, which were located on a carpet of white artificial turf-just right for the Winter 2014/15 Kickoff.
New to this edition was the separate table dedicated to the important topic of"Lightweights"as well as the eye-catching presentation of accessories at the PERFORMANCE GATE.The most innovative fabrics on each table were accented by a special button.
The new QR codes associated with each fabric were especially well received by the visitors. This tool further demonstrated the customer friendly layout of the trade fair, which is always intended to facilitate the effective collaboration between visitor and exhibitor.
The next trade fair is scheduled for 15-16th May 2013 in Munich.Exhibitor registration for May 2013 is already underway.
