The Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) will be conducting a workshop on October 4, aimed at updating the textile industry stakeholders regarding the new Maharashtra Textile Policy.

The workshop titled 'Advantage Vidarbha - Investment Opportunities in Textiles' has been organized by the VIA, in association with Suvin Advisors Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai, Mill Owners Association and IT Power (ITP) India.

Besides updating the stakeholders regarding the new Textile Policy, the three-hour workshop would also acquaint them about various investment avenues, and about ways to retain their cost effectiveness in present times of competition, and also about ways to benefit from the initiatives under the new policy.

The seminar would prove advantageous for all existing and new textile industry entrepreneurs as well as cooperative textile mill owners.

Well-known speakers including ITP Management Consultant Chetan Sangole, Managing Director of Suvin Advisors Pvt. Ltd Avinash Mayekar and Suvin Manohar Kanitkar, Executive Director of Suvin Advisors Pvt. Ltd are scheduled to address the participants at the workshop.

The workshop would present the attendees with an opportunity to discuss new, exceptional ideas regarding several unexplored business models, and would also acquaint them on use of best utility techniques to cut operating costs for ongoing as well as new businesses.

At a point in time Vidarbha used to be a preferred location for textile units, however, several reputed units in the region including Model Mills, Empress and mills at Badnera, Hinganghat and Achalpur shutdown one after the other for various reasons.

The new Textile Policy is looked upon to help the region regain its lost position.
