The Dad's Choice Awards 2013 is reminding companies and individuals to submit their entries.
The awards are open to any toy, game puzzle, app or electronic device that meets the category criteria. The closing date for entries is Friday, September 6th.
Each toy will be evaluated on its creativity, fun factor, value for money and whether it lives up to the hype by a team of dad testers, aided by a panel of children.
Each toy manufacturer will receive an evaluation report with comments from the testers.
To be eligible, toys must be released in the UK and available for sale between January 1st, 2013 and December 31st, 2013.
This year's categories include Remote Control Toys, Electronic, Arts and Crafts, Apps, Traditional, Educational, Action Figures, Building and Making, Gadgets and Gizmos, Stocking Fillers, Board Games, Puzzles, vehicles, Role Play, Sport, Models and Fun Toys.
Each category will have three potential awards: Winner, Highly Commended and Commended. Winners will be able to include Dad's Choice Awards logos in their marketing, box packaging and other promotional activities free of charge.
All winners will be announced on Friday, October 4th.
David Ross, founder of Dad's Choice Awards, said: "We've been watching the news from the Toy Fairs and industry and there's definitely some great toys due for release this year, which will be a firm favourite with dads.
"There's no doubt that dads and their kids play with different toys and so we can't wait to let our dad testers get started. I'm certain there will be some spectacular entries this year."
