The First Good Toy Guide Retailer ---Online Toy Store The Forgotten Toy Shop

The Good Toy Guide has awarded the online retailer the January accolade for its dedication to traditional toys and play.

Online toy store The Forgotten Toy Shop has been named the first Good Toy Guide Retailer of the Month for 2015.

Set up in 2012 by Karen Dorn, the store aims to ‘reignite the joy of child’s play’ offering traditional toys and games.

While predominantly an online retailer, the Nottingham-based The Forgotten Toy Shop hosts regular market stalls in Melton Mowbray and attends seasonal fairs and markets across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

“I love to see the people’s faces when they see my stall, you can actually see them returning to their childhood,” said Dorn.

“Hearing the stories of how they played as children is such a joy. People often say they enjoy coming to my stall, it brings back the magic of childhood memories and takes them away from the hectic, fast-paced life we find ourselves in today, even if just for a moment.”

Sourcing all of her store’s product herself, the toy enthusiast is a firm believer in providing excellent and personal customer service to help meet customer’s requirements by ensuring ‘they are delighted with their purchases.’

Amanda Gummer, CEO of Fundamentally Children, said: “We love finding people who share our passion for the wonders of play and the value of childhood.

“We are very pleased to be awarding The Forgotten Toy Shop our prized Retailer of the Month award and we hope this helps them kick start a successful and playful 2015.”
