"Wembley was a great success in the 80s and every year we get asked to when it will be reintroduced to the Gibsons range."
Gibsons is relaunching Wembley, one of its most popular games from back in the Eighties.
Originally introduced to the Gibsons range in 1981, the classic game has been revamped with a new board design, updated components and a smart, new box, although the gameplay remains the same.
Inspired by the magic of the 1980-81 FA Cup, Wembley takes players back to the 100th anniversary of the world’s oldest football competition, when Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester City in the first Wembley replay.
“Wembley was a great success in the Eighties and every year we get asked to when it will be reintroduced to the Gibsons range,” said key account manager, Nicki Gumbrell.
“Following the success of our detective board games 221b Baker Street and Sherlock Holmes The Card Game, we felt the time was the right time to rebrand the classic game. As the release coincides with the FA Cup semi-final, we hope families will be encouraged to sit down and play their very own version of the great game.”
