Monitor Apparel Production Will Be Interfaced by Mobile

Technology is helping garment producers to become more efficient and recently a mobile interface has been released to efficiently monitor clothing production.

The new mobile interface technology to achieve higher productivity and quality improvements in apparel manufacturing has been introduced by Sweden-based Eton Systems, the pioneer of Unit Production Hanger Systems.   The new touch screen terminal application can be used in both android smart phones as well as tablets for detailed and real time information about the clothing production processes.   In a conversation with fibre2fashion, CEO of Eton Systems, Ms. Tintin Jonasson said, “We are now offering a mobile and very modern user interface to monitor as well as control our production systems, which was previously only possible to do through a Personal Computer. The Touch Screen Terminal Application presents relevant information for the operators with an easy to use interface and the information can be personalized.”

“We have launched the mobile technology to improve the interface for our systems in order to make work easier for operators and supervisors,” she adds.   Johan Granath, the lead inventor of the new app, says, “The Touch Screen Application presents a large amount of information simultaneously and then the user can decide on what data to show or update by selecting on the screen.”

According to Granath, there are two versions of the Touch Screen Application, the operator app and the supervisor app. “The operator app is mainly intended for providing operators with actual, real time information crucial for his or her workstation. Its abilities to influence production processes is restricted to the current workstation,” he continues.   “The supervisor app is able to provide a broader picture of the production, as well as detailed information linked to specific workstations. It includes handy tools to supervise the system,” he adds.   Founded in 1967, the Eton Unit Production System was invented by Eton Systems with an objective to streamline the production process, minimize downtime and optimize the usage of production premises.
