Kindle, an e-book reader product by ecommerce giant Amazon.com, is said to be introduced into the Chinese mainland soon.
Sources said recently that Kindle would be introduced into China around May 1 and actually, there had been such reports since March this year. Amazon.com has not make a response to this, but industry observers believe that it is only a problem of time and sooner or later, it will introduce the product into the market. And so far, it has become a focal point whether the product will enjoy a pretty sales volume there.
The problem of e-book pirates in the market is very severe and this has become the biggest obstacle on the introduction way of Kindle. Major book-oriented ecommerce firms there launched a self-branded e-book reader product in succession last year and the copyright of e-books was mentioned when they signed an agreement with a press. This just paved the way for the entry of Kindle. However, Amazon.com still needs to solve a problem regarding to book and music storage ability with personal accounts before this. It always depends much on Cloud Drive in the field, but has not won a license to promote the service in the market. It is the biggest personal cloud service provider in the US, but meets a list of difficulties in introducing the service into the Chinese market. And in line with industry observers, there will be possibility for it to win a license to promote the service there through cooperating with a Chinese data center operator.
People in the circle pointed out that Amazon.com had a complete ecosystem and the major reason for it to introduce Kindle into the market might not be selling e-books. It thought highly of public cloud service and it should be the service that caused it to make such a decision. The market was potential and as time went by, the size would continue rising.
It has become a focal point whether it will introduce Kindle Fire, a tablet PC product, into the market in the meantime as the latest mode for it to promote value-added services in the US was through a Kindle Fire rather than a Kindle. Actually, it has not had such an ability in terms of contents in the Chinese market and people close to it disclosed that after the introduction of hardware, it would see a digital content ecosystem architecture be well built and based on this, it would fuel expansion in the field of self content construction.
