Japan-based JFE Chemicals has reduced the production rates at its benzene plant.
“We are currently operating the benzene plant at 70 percent of production capacity,” a JFE Chemicals official told fibre2fashion.
He added, “The plant is operating at the lower rates since the early days of May this year, due to slowdown in demand”.
Located in Chiba, Japan, the benzene plant has a production capacity of 150,000 mt/year. The plant has a maintenance turnaround once a year from mid of September to October.
