The sixth edition of Italia Invita 2013, an international fair-cum-exhibition highlighting various forms of textile arts and creativity, is going to take place in the Italian province of Parma, from May 10 to 12, 2013.
Expected to attract designers, stylists, artisans and textile professionals from various countries, the event will focus on the latest techniques in embroidery, lace, knitting, felting, crochet and weaving. The fair will also feature a CNA Federmoda-organized exhibition, displaying a range of clothing and accessories designed by young designers, titled Fashionaction.
Additionally, the event will conduct educational workshops on quilting and patchwork by the famous Italian and international specialists like Noriko Endo, Elina Lüsis-Grinberga and Cherilyn Martin, as well as short courses on Matildico embroidery, and needle and bobbin lace weaving methods. Other than the exhibitions and educational workshops, the fair will hold two competitions- Squaring the Circle (meant specifically for individual quilters, groups and associations) and International Circle (open for amateurs interested in needle, thread and fabric creativity).
