The Spanish textiles Export Price Index (IPRIX) for the month of August 2013 shows a decline of 1.3 percent year-on-year, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
The IPRIX for the overall exports in Spain has also decreased in the month of August by 2.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
However, in the manufacture of garments sector, the IPRIX has shown an increase of 1.6 percent for August, compared to the same period in 2012.
The IPRIX measures the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Spain for export to other countries, on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile the Import Price Index (IPRIM) of the textile industry in Spain has also declined by 0.9 percent year-on-year for the month of August, and the same decrease continued in the manufacture of garments sector, where the IPRIM plunged 1.3 percent in August, compared to the same month last year.
The IPRIM for the overall imports has also declined by 3.3 percent year-on-year, which is one point less compared to the IPRIM registered in July, 2013.
The IPRIM indicates the monthly changes in prices of industrial products imported by Spain from other countries.
