Industrial printers manufacturer Videojet Technologies has launched the next generation of thermal transfer overprinters (TTO) to meet code quality requirements of manufacturers.
The new Videojet DataFlex 6530 and 6330 TTO printers feature iAssure technology to help reduce packaging waste that arise from coding errors.
They also feature an integrated code assurance system that automatically checks every print for alphanumeric print defects.
Videojet said operators can now decide to stop the line when various common print defects are identified, decreasing the need to scrap or rework product.
Videojet Technologies business unit manager Heidi Wright said: “Videojet iAssure technology will help our customers consistently deliver high-quality codes by detecting print defects caused by things like dirty printheads, uneven print surfaces or ribbon wrinkles.
“iAssure technology complements existing quality control processes. No other TTO printer on the market can do this.”
The Videojet DataFlex® 6530 and 6330 printers have a customized design that enables the power supply to be kept along with the controller or placed inside the packaging machine cabinet.
They can now print on zipper packs andpouches of varying thickness with no special setup. They can also be used on films that have re-sealable zippers in each pack.
The printers will increase the throughput by 25% and reduce the operating costs by using an all electronic printing design.
The design also removes the need for operators to adjust the amount of air pressure required when trying to enhance poor print quality.
