According to the German federal statistics agency, turnover generated by German furniture manufacturers in March 2013 showed year-on-year decline of 11.5% to €1.378bn, a further deterioration compared to the situation in January (-1.5%) and February (-8.1%). Domestic turnover, which decreased by 13.7% to €970.5m in March, showed a considerably worse trend than foreign turnover, which was down by 5.7% to €407.6m. Cumulative turnover generated by the German furniture industry for the first quarter showed overall decline of 6.4% to €3.997bn, with a fall in domestic turnover of 7.7% to €2.830bn and in foreign turnover of 3% to €1.168bn.
