Textile Exchange, a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating sustainable practices in the textile industry, is announcing a revamped tool that simplifies the vast and conflicting facts and information about the sustainable textile world. Textile Exchange’s FASTfacts tool is free and will be the topic of a webinar on March 26 and 27.
FASTfacts is a result of hours of research and interpretation by the top sustainability team in the industry. The three categories available are FASTfacts Water, FASTfacts Chemical Management and FASTfacts Textile and Product Waste. Textile Exchange’s FASTfacts allows brands and supply chain partners to quickly access up-to-date information, view best practices and equip themselves to make important sustainability decisions.
Ben Mead, Textile Exchange’s new Sustainability Specialist in wet processing and chemistry will walk webinar participants through the many aspects of FASTfacts. Mead was hired in January to help Textile Exchange develop content, assist with training and establish new partnerships with industry leaders and experts. This webinar is an integral part of Mead’s new responsibilities. Carlotta Cataldi, Textile Exchange’s Research and Facilitation Specialist, will also be on the call.
The webinaris free and will take place at two times to ensure global participation. It will be held March 26 at 2 p.m. Eastern and March 27 at 9 a.m. Eastern. Participants must register in advance. The FASTfacts tools will be available on the Textile Exchange website .
FASTfacts Water is an updated version of the tool, originally created in 2011. It contains links to working groups and brand policies, usage and access statistics and data management tools to enable brands to benchmark their current water quality and utilization program.
FASTfacts Chemical Management: Beyond Legislative Compliance is a compilation of resources to help brands develop or improve their chemical management plan.
Textile Exchange will also release a series of Chemical Snapshots later this month, created to provide easily understandable information on chemicals of concern in textile processing. Download a free snapshot on PVC . Others to come include snapshots on PFAO, PFOS, DMFu, BPA, Dispered Dyes, and more. More information will be revealed on this during the webinar.
