Rumors had it that ground-mounted solar power projects have become the mainstream in China after China released a series of policies regarding subsidy plans and grid-connection in 2013. Recently, more and more listed companies have announced to sell their EPC solar power plants. The business model is turning increasingly mature.

Zhongli Sci-Tech announced on January 1st, 2014, that they sold a 179.5MW PV power plant project by sales of entire equities in Changzhou Xinhui New Energy. In regards to the entire PV power plant transfer price, Zhongli Sci-Tech is expected to gain RMB 1.8 billion from sales of the 179.5MW PV power plant project.

Akcome announced on December 31st, 2013, that they signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOI) with Renesola to acquire three utility-scale projects in Western China, with a total capacity of 60MW.

Clou Electronics announced on January 2nd, 2014, that they paid RMB 600 million to acquire 60% equities of TBEA Sunoasis’s subsidiary company and take over their 20MW grid-connected solar power project.

The intensive solar power plant sales in the Chinese market was caused by the following reasons: 1) Subsidy of RMB 1/kWh was available for projects installed in 2H13 and completed grid-connection before the end of 2013. 2) Listed companies had to boost their sales performance.
