BERNINA of America, the world's premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce the winners of its Fabric Design Contest on Pinterest, which ran April 1 to April 22. Entries were required to be original fabric designs, created by aspiring designers who do not already have a fabric line.
Winners were selected based on originality, creativity, visual appeal and versatility by BERNINA's celebrity judges: Amanda Murphy, Tula Pink, Mimi Goodwin, Vanessa Christenson and Angie Steveson. People's Choice Winners were selected by the number of "repins" made on the official WeAllSew board on Pinterest.
The winners of BERNINA's Fabric Design Contest on Pinterest are:
Grand Prize: Shakti Scircle of Kokomo, Ind. Shakti will receive a BERNINA 710 machine, a 10-yard custom run of the winning design on fabric, an introduction to quilting fabrics manufacturer Benartex to review the design, and a feature on the WeAllSew blog.
First Runner Up: Candace Carr of Libertyville, Ill. Candace has won a 5-yard custom run of the winning design on fabric, an introduction to quilting fabrics manufacturer Benartex to review the design, and a feature on WeAllSew.
2nd Runner Up: Shakti Scircle will receive a copy of A Field Guild to Fabric Design by Kimberly Kight, a BERNINA Tote and fabrics from Benartex, in addition to her Grand Prize awards.
People's Choice Winner, Most Re-pinned Fabric Design: Jen Benoit-Bryan of Cicero, Ill. Jen has won a copy of A Field Guild to Fabric Design by Kimberly Kight.
People's Choice Winner, 2nd Most Re-pinned Fabric Design: Laurie Anderson of Columbia, Tenn. Laurie will receive a copy of A Field Guild to Fabric Design by Kimberly Kight.
All winners will also receive three patterns from Lunch Box Quilts.
Up to 10 entries per person were allowed, created by hand, by computer or a combination of both and entered as 12-inch-square "swatches." The winning and non-winning designs are available for viewing on Pinterest at: www.pinterest.com/WeAllSew/bernina-fabric-design-contest-entries.
