Daikin Has Launched a New Heat Pump System for Restaurants

Air conditioning manufacturer Daikin has launched a new heat pump system for restaurants which offers potential cost savings of up to 50 per cent compared with a gas boiler.

Product details:

The Daikin Altherma High Temperature system is an air-to-water heat pump that provides heating and hot water up to 80℃. It heats up to five times more efficiently than a traditional heating system based on fossil fuels or electricity and offers potential running cost savings of up to 50 per cent compared with a gas boiler.

The system takes heat from the air so no excavation works are required and can be configured for use in both new and refurbishment applications. When combined with a Daikin VRV air conditioning unit, the system utilises waste heat from the air conditioning process to heat and generate energy efficient hot water with a temperature range of 25 to 80℃, for use in commercial kitchen and wc facilities.

USP:

The Daikin Altherma system offers annual energy bill savings of up 50 per cent compared with a traditional gas boiler.

Renewable energy heating solutions provider e2ecoheat recently completed the UK's first restaurant application for Daikin's Altherma High Temperature System, at the 192-cover Graysons' restaurant, Dane's Yard Kitchen.

Availability: The system is available across the UK now.

Why should you buy it:

Steve Dale, managing director of the Daikin D1 installer for e2ecoheat, said: "The Daikin Heat Recovery VRV is specifically designed to deliver optimum climate control.

"Integrated with the Daikin Altherma High Temperature Hot Water Module, the system will provide the majority of hot water from recovered heat from the cooling system. Up until now, we have only installed Altherma systems in residential properties so we are delighted to be involved in what we understand to be the first restaurant application project."

"This combination of Daikin technology ensures that restaurants will waste less energy and the overall system efficiency is vastly improved to reduce both running costs and carbon emissions."
