Turkmenistan hosted an international exhibition 'Textile Industry of Innovation Development in the Era of Power and Happiness' that was organized by the Ministry of Textile Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in its capital Ashgabat. The forum attracted more than 135 representatives of major textile companies from various countries, including Germany, Italy, China, Switzerland, Turkey, Belgium, Korea, Russia, India, Luxembourg and the UK. The President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymuhmedov, encouraged the participants by saying that the exhibition will be a huge platform for the country's textile sector to achieve the high goals set by them.
The exhibition has become one of the most prestigious expositions of textile goods in the Ashgabat region, and various firms displayed their finished products made of high-quality natural cotton and silk yarn.
On display were readymade garments such as menswear, knitted clothes for children, sportswear, and denim clothing items. The main exhibitors at the fair were the Turkmen producers, who showcased a wide range of high-quality and latest design goods that have been exported to the EU, Asia and the US. The highlight of the exhibition was a silk fashion show by leading Turkish designer Muammer Ketenci. The clothing line for the ramp represented the intricate and refined designs worn by the women of the Ottoman Empire. Another fashion show was presented by Turkmen designers of the Fashion House of the Ministry of Textile Industry and Fashion House 'Gulzaman'.
