A special edition Porsche 911 has been created to celebrate the iconic German sports car maker reaching five million Facebook fans.
The 911 Carrera 4S, designed with input from the company’s many online fans, sports Aqua Blue Metallic paint from Porsche’s Exclusive range and white 20-inch Carrera S wheels and pinstripes. The car also features an Aerokit Cup package, fixed rear wing and sports suspension.
The car’s interior features dashboard and sill engravings that read “Personally Built by 5 Million Porsche Fans”.
Despite being inspired by cyberspace, Porsche has actually built the car, and is holding a contest to give winners a chance to physically drive it at the Porsche Experience Centre at Britain’s Silverstone Racetrack.
This is not the first time Porsche has unveiled a special edition car to acknowledge growing Facebook fan numbers. After reaching one million Facebook ‘likes’, it launched a unique 911 GT3-R Hybrid covered in the signatures of 27,000 fans. Just last year, it revealed a one-off Cayman S featuring the faces of Porsche’s fans having reached two million fans.
Porsche is currently sitting on just over 5.8 million fans, so six million can’t be far away. How would you like to see it celebrate next?
