Honda Is Planning to Introduce New Gas-Electric System

Japanese automaker Honda will replace the Integrated Motor Assist series with the introduction of a new gas-electric system called the Honda Sport Hybrid.

The new gas-electric system comprises three different systems: intelligent dual clutch drive, intelligent multi mode drive/plug-in and super handling-AWD.

Sport Hybrid intelligent multi mode drive/plug-In system includes a hybrid-specific engine and an electronic CVT with two built-in electric motors.

Additionally, the intelligent system will enable drivers to use three different ride modes: EV, Engine and Hybrid depending on the conditions.

The EV Drive mode will maximise electricity usage to drive the car, while Hybrid Drive will use the engine to produce electricity for the motors and Engine Drive will deliver faster speeds.

Sport Hybrid Super Handling all-wheel drive system (SH-AWD) uses three electric motors to deliver improved performance and uses two motors installed in the rear to control the torque distribution to the right and left rear wheels.

The Sport Hybrid Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive integrates inline 4 cylinder 1.5-liter engine with a 7-speed DCT 3 system that featurs a built-in high output motor and a lithium-ion battery for enhanced efficiency.
