Telstra's rivals have made an 11th-hour plea to the competition regulator to halt the telco giant's proposed acquisition of budget broadband provider Adam Internet.
Senior executives from iiNet, Vodafone and Macquarie Telecom yesterday wrote to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission in a final bid to convince the regulator that Telstra's $60 million acquisition of Adam Internet would lead to a substantial lessening of competition in the retail market for broadband services and the wholesale market for transmission or backhaul services.
