LEGO Star Wars toy sales in LEGO retail stores rose 40 per cent during a recent marketing campaign.

The Yoda Chronicles Tour, which took place over the Easter period, attracted an estimated 10,000 people who take part in the fun activities.

There were more than 14,000 LEGO Star Wars goodies distributed and 2,000 green screen pictures taken of fans wielding lightsabers.

The tour visited Bluewater, The Trafford Centre and Westfield London Shepherd's Bush.

A giant six foot Yoda model was also constructed from 30,000 green LEGO bricks as part of the tour.

"The Yoda Chronicles Tour was a great success and allowed us to get closer to our consumers whilst engaging directly with thousands of LEGO enthusiasts and LEGO Star Wars fans alike," said LEGO UK Brand Manager Justin Clasby.

"The tour really encouraged children and families to build together, and was an ideal platform to introduce them to the new and exciting Yoda Chronicles that will unveil LEGO Star Wars secrets throughout 2013."

The LEGO Star Wars Yoda series will unveil stories throughout the year, which will appear on Cartoon Network in May and LEGO.com/starwars.
