Stora Enso is set to introduce upgraded Ensocoat luxury and graphical carton board, which can be used in various applications.
Ensocoat has been developed for use in graphical applications and luxury packaging for consumer products such as cosmetics, perfumes, champagne, spirits and chocolate.
The new upgrade solution will provide better whiteness and shade, enabling to result in better print results and high performance with all finishing treatments.
Developed by using renewable material, Ensocoat is part of the solid bleached sulphate (SBS) board category.
SBS board is claimed to be the highest quality category in carton board, which is developed by using pure virgin fibre.
Stora Enso will showcase the new board quality at the Interpack 2017 packaging exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany. The event will take place in May.
Stora Enso product manager Eva Lundqvist said: “Luxury packaging typically involves embossing, foil stamping and other special effects that demand a lot from the material, its smoothness, whiteness and folding properties.
“With Ensocoat we want to offer our customers a carton board with the market’s best visual appearance.
“Whiteness and brightness are the key technical properties, and we are also looking into whiteness as an aesthetic experience, based on insights gathered from our customers and stakeholders.”
Through its consumer board and packaging solution units, Stora Enso produces packaging materials and packaging solutions based on renewable raw materials for consumer goods and industrial packaging applications.
