A toy plane that the late astronaut Neil Armstrong played with as a child is expecting to fetch as much as $2,500 at auction.
The red metal toy was owned by the first man to walk on the moon and will be auctioned off this month in the US as part of a space-themed sale at Heritage Auctions.
It was found by the family who bought Armstrong's boyhood home in 1964. The model plane was discovered in the house's attic, along with a red wagon and some homework papers.
"In July 1964 my parents purchased the home on 601 W. Benton Street, Wapakoneta, Ohio from Steve and Viola Armstrong," Jacqueline (Miller) Knapke said.
"Mrs. V. Armstrong verified at that time that the wagon and this airplane was Neil's and that he and his brother played with it."
The Millers previously donated the red toy wagon to the Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, but held on to the toy plane until now.
Armstrong died last year aged 82, following complications from heart surgery.
