According to statistics released by the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), Korea imported 38,482 tons of hot rolled (HR) stainless steel products in February, falling by 14% from a month ago while rising by 18% year on year. The country’s import prices of HR stainless steel products averaged at US$2,213/ton in February, decreasing by US$94/ton from January, caused by weak demand during the Chinese New Year holiday. In February, China was the largest exporter of HR stainless steel products to Korea with 19,416 tons, accounting for 50.5% of the total.
