Cal-West Specialty Coatings, Inc. has obtained a patent for a composition for the formation of a peelable protective coating on a surface, the composition is comprised of a liquid aqueous mixture or solution comprised of a polyvinyl butyral film former; an extender; a zinc oxide; a surfactant; and a thickener; wherein the mixture or solution does not include a polyurethane, and wherein the coating formed by drying the composition on a surface is removable by mechanical peeling.
