Cricut announced the availability of Cricut Iron-on, a specially designed material that allows Cricut users to create stylish and personalized do-it-yourself (DIY) fashion and home décor projects.
Inspired by the growing DIY movement, Cricut Iron-on allows aspiring designers and beginners alike to create wholly unique designs using Cricut’s library of cartridges and images, and easily cut out those creations using any Cricut personal cutting machine.
Applying a heated iron for 25-30 seconds will permanently adhere the design to a variety of textiles, including denim, jersey knits, leather and many others.
“With Cricut Iron-on, DIY fashion has never been easier or looked more professional,” said Ashish Arora, CEO of Cricut. “With our iron-on material, vast library of images and full line of cutting machines, we’ve given amateur fashionistas all of the tools they need to fill their closets with trendsetting styles that reflect their personal creativity.
"Whether they want to invent something completely new, or embellish and enhance items they already have, Cricut Iron-on will help users create projects that look like they came straight off the runway.”
Cricut Iron-on products come in two different styles: Cricut Iron-on Lite, which is available in eight colors, and Cricut Iron-on Glitter, which comes in four colors. The new innovative material resists fading and flaking, making projects made with Cricut Iron-on durable and long lasting.
In conjunction with this new material, the company has partnered with indie designer Linsey Stiles to create two new fashion cartridges. The Boho Graphics cartridge includes on-trend images like chevrons, feathers, flowers and vines, while the Brooklyn cartridge is geared toward the retro hipster DIY designers with gaming, space, bowties and glasses images.
“We continually strive to make products that will enable people to achieve their creative best,” added Arora. “As the do-it-yourself trend continues to grow in popularity, Cricut’s personal cutting machines are as essential to any DIY toolkit as a sewing machine, and will help users stay on trend without breaking the bank.”
