His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has been presented with regimental socks from The Regimental Collection – made by luxury hosiery manufacturer Corgi. The range which was the idea of The Prince includes nine sock designs that are based on Regiments or Battalions of which HRH is Colonel or Colonel-in-Chief Prince. The range was revealed at the opening day of the prestigious Coronation Festival in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. The visit by HRH to the Carmarthenshire-based Corgi stand was one of his first of the four-day festival.
Each design depicts the unique stripe and colours of the Regiment or Battalion, however unlike traditional military hosiery the fine-gauge socks are produced from 100% pure soft cotton, making them ideally suited to everyday smart or casual wear.
The Collection is also endorsed by the UK Ministry of Defence and a proportion of the proceeds from all sales will be donated to Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for British Veterans suffering from mental ill-health and of which The Prince of Wales is Patron.
Chris Jones, Joint Managing Director of Corgi, said: “It was an honour to present The Prince of Wales with the Regimental Collection after spending the past few months trying to complete this project. His Royal Highness actually initiated the idea for the range and we were delighted to run with it.
“Everyone at Corgi is also pleased that we are able to donate a proportion of the proceeds from sales to a charity that is so close to The Prince’s heart is an added bonus”.

Corgi has a long-standing relationship with HRH The Prince of Wales. He awarded the family-run company its Royal Warrant in 1989 and has visited its Carmarthenshire factory, located just a short distance from the Welsh home at Llwynywermod he shares with HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.
His Royal Highness has long championed the value and importance of British manufacturing and is vocal in his support of companies like Corgi, whose goods are produced here in the UK but sold all over the world.
Visitors to the Coronation Festival can purchase socks from the Regimental Collection. Following the Festival, the range will be available exclusively through Mr Porter until September and then via selected retailers and Corgi's own website. It is hoped that those with links to the military and, indeed, those who simply appreciate good style will enjoy wearing the luxury garments while supporting one of the UK’s leading Veterans charities.
