Polaroid Is Making an Ambitious Move Into The Children's Tablet Market

Polaroid is making an ambitious move into the children's tablet market - unveiling its first product in Las Vegas this week at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Featuring the Android 4.0 OS, the tablet has already been named a CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree in the Tablets, E-Readers & Mobile Computing product category.

It includes a customised suite of apps such as Kids Cam, Music Studio and Draw, plus Kids Videos, an app which allows children to stream safe videos, and Free Play, a unique way to display all the free games/apps available for download from the App Shop.

The tablet also has built-in parental controls and a safe web browser and a display lock.

"Throughout out 75-year history, we've been known for creating innovative and easy to use products that are fun for all ages," said Scott W Hardy, president and CEO at Polaroid. "The kids tablet is no exception. It epitomises the Polaroid brand personality and brings together a host of features that will delight kids and parents alike."
