Toy Brands PAW Patrol and Shopkins Win Big at Licensing Awards 2016

The Spin Master range of toys inspired by the hit Nickelodeon animated series PAW Patrol took home the gong in the Best Licensed Toys or Games Range.

PAW Patrol, Shopkins and DC Super Heroes were among just some of the leading children’s entertainment and toy lines to win big at this year’s Licensing Awards.

Meanwhile, Rubie’s Masquerage took to the stage to collect the award for Best Licensed Dress-Up or Party Range for its DC Super Heroes range.

The properties were celebrated alongside the likes of Star Wars, Minions, Adventure Time and Winnie the Pooh at the annual awards ceremony launched to celebrate the multiple channels of the licensing industry.

Nearly 1,500 executives from across the industry filled The Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night to champion the properties, retailers and licensing companies making the biggest waves at retail at the moment.

Among them was popular toy brand Shopkins which took home the award for Best Children’s or Tweens Property (age group five to 12).

Elsewhere, high street retailer Argos was championed as this year’s Best Preschool Retailer of Licensed Products, while Tesco took home a string of awards including Best Kids Retailer of Licensed Products and Top Retailer Award.

Ian Downes of Start Licensing, the licensing agent for hit brands including The Beano, took home The Honorary Achievement Award.
