French board game publisher and parent company of Esdevium, Asmodee has merged with Days of Wonder, the team behind popular titles such as Ticket to Ride.
The end result of the move will see Days of Wonder become a wholly owned subsidiary of Asmodee, reports Bleeding Cool.
Tabletop gamers know Days of Wonder as the team behind other titles including Memoir 44 and Small World.
The company will continue to work as an independent studio within Asmodee, while Asmodee will use the merger as a platform for US mass marketing, utilizing the hobby gaming channels that Days of Wonder has.
Asmodee will lend its netowrk of studios and increased access to ensure broader international distribution for Days of Wonder products. As the UK arm of Asmodee, Esdevium will continue to supply a full range of Days of Wonder products.
Days of Wonder titles will continue to be distributed to the hobby trade via Alliance Game Distributors, and elsewhere via PSI.
"I am thrilled that such a successful publisher as Days of Wonder has decided to join Asmodee Group," said Stephane Carville, Asmodee CEO.
"By combining forces we will be able to further our great company project - providing great titles to the gaming community and developing the game market across all boarders."
