Swedish consumer goods and paper manufacturer SCA has introduced GraphoStyle, a high-bulk lightweight coated (LWC) publication paper with printability on the lines of magazines.
Claimed to be environment-friendly and capable of creating volume, GraphoStyle is a matt, bright and bulky LWC paper.
The paper fits requirement for smaller run as the material could serve as printed material resembling a magazine with a high-class feel and appearance, even with lower number of pages, the company said.
Capable of offering a higher brightness, good contrasts and vibrant colors in images, GraphoStyle can also be pitted against higher bulk papers used in advertising and magazines.
The product leads to a reduction of grammage of the paper, cutting on purchase and distribution costs.
SCA Ortviken's publication paper marketing dector Ulf Edman said: "There has been a clear increase in the demand for bulky paper with high brightness in Europe, while paper that has an easily-readable matt surface is also proof of environmental values.
"With GraphoStyle we want to give customers an extraordinary paper that meets the needs that we are currently seeing."
The company has been producing LWC paper at its Ortviken paper mill since the early 1990s. SCA Ortviken's paper portfolio includes uncoated, bulky paper GraphoInvent for newspapers, magazines and advertising, and coated paper GraphoSilk.
