Material Lab to Push Boundaries of Surface Design at Decorex

New for 2015, Decorex International has announced its collaboration with specialist in surface design, Material Lab. Celebrating this year’s show theme, the ‘Future of Luxury’, the installation will showcase the latest in cutting edge techniques from 14 of the finest luxury surface design studios in the UK.

Visitors to the 300 sqm feature tent can see materials ranging from gilded glass, high-end metal effect finishes and engineered stone to chalk and charcoal textures and embroidered wallpaper. From the 14 design studios taking part, highlights include: Anthony Roussel, CUSTHOM, Float Glass, Gemma Kay Waggett, Giles Miller Studio, Heliot and Co., Studio Moon, Olivia Aspinall Studio, Solomon & Wu, Tex-Tile and Tactility Factory.

Launching new product at this year’s Decorex, Antony Roussel, with a deep understanding of how shadow and repeated pattern can enhance interior settings, unveils a new range of sculptural timber surfaces inspired by Haggerston School.

CUSTHOM studio, founded in 2010, fuses traditional British craftsmanship with a broad palette of inspiration from design disciplines and an innovative use of materials and processes. CUSTHOM will launch its ‘New Cross’ embroidered wallpaper. Specialists in the bespoke design and production of creative architectural glass, Float Glass will reveal a never seen before glass panel using innovate new manufacturing processes. Founded by Candida Wigan in 2010, Tex-Tile produces relief tiles glazed in any colour, in both gloss and matt, combining her native Portuguese heritage of both textiles and tiles. Two new ranges, Mesh and Skiathos, will be on show throughout the four days.
